About Gas Strategies Consulting

Gas Strategies Consulting was formed in 1989 as the consulting arm of its parent, Gas Strategies Group Limited. Our practice advises on all commercial issues relating to the gas business. In 2003, Gas Strategies Group Limited was purchased by CRISIL, India’s leading ratings, financial news, risk and policy advisory company.

Our reputation is built upon our greatest strength: the quality of our industry-honed consultants and our ability to assemble them into diverse teams to provide new insights.

Whether in print or electronic media, from the conference platform, or when giving consultancy advice, our business is understanding and making sense of all these changes for our clients. Many of our staff have had a wide spectrum of operational responsibilities within the major gas companies from producers to large users. Our Global Reach

Gas Strategies serves clients around the globe from our London base. We also have a presence through our consultants, associates and joint venture partners around the globe in Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Australia, Singapore, Brunei, Korea, South Africa and the US. Our ultimate parent company, CRISIL, provides expert advice to the burgeoning Indian gas market.

Our Management

Christopher Walters - Chris specialises in European gas market development, liberalisation and regulation. He is a Director of Consulting at Gas Strategies, and is involved in all aspects of management and business development activities. Some of his recent consulting assignments include participation in a major competitor analysis study which looked at the response of 25 European companies to new competitive threats and opportunities.

James Ball - James is the co-founder of Gas Strategies and has an exceptionally wide knowledge and understanding of the international gas business. He has a particular interest in corporate gas strategies, emerging and liberalising gas markets, power market strategies for gas, and international LNG markets. He has advised companies around the world and has worked extensively on lender due diligence assignments.

Philip Nutman - Phil is an expert adviser in the gas sector, who has led numerous project teams of specialists, advising international companies and governments on strategy, commercial negotiations, regulation, restructuring, valuation and transactions. He is a Director of Consulting at Gas Strategies, and is involved in all aspects of management and business development activities.

Pat Breen -Chief Executive Officer of Gas Strategies Group Limited, Pat has twenty five years' experience as a management consultant, financial director and accountant in both professional and industrial environments covering a number of areas.

His experience in the past fifteen years has been particularly focused on the Electricity sector (Distribution, Supply and Generation) and on Gas. Pat has become known for his thought leadership and strategic thinking in each element of the energy value-chain as it has experienced successive stages of competitive and shareholder value challenge in deregulation. Pat led the Energy Strategy and Energy Trading & Risk Management services of Deloitte Consulting in Europe from 1998 ? 2004, and then spent a period providing independent consulting support to a number of major European utilities.
